Enemies and Hit reg

Several times I have had enemies "pop-in" from nowhere and I 1-hit insta-die. Particularly "Hoplite Skirmishers." 4 hearts (steak buff), Full Marine Armor. My most recent was a robo-wolf (forgot the name) and a crawler variant. They seemed to be aggro'd away from a POI when I was farming and when I was within range, they wouldn't take damage and didn't even seem to be "aiming" at me. But somehow, when they (with animation) attacked, I would take damage. When I respawned, they were back at their POI and behaved and died normally.
