I don't even bother stopping or opening any chest. The crashed ships? I get 1 wood or 1 metal nothing worth stopping for. Same will all chest. Most islands are bland with no POI's. Only skim by them to see if any enemies are on there since Wire and Rivets are so hard to get. You got to find a way to make chest worth stopping for. Maybe some blue prints? high end items? Armor? Something.
